(HONGCHEON=Yonhap News) Vacation season has started and from July 27 regions in Gangwon-do started summer festivals to present cool and clean Gangwon-do.
Tourists who visited Hongcheon Waxy Corn Festival held at Tori Forest, City Forest Park enjoyed the steamed corns while watching performance of the Military Band of the 11th Mechanized Infantry Division.
On the same day at Yanggu Leports Park, tourists enjoyed the Yanggu Center Festival.
The participants were relieved from the hot weather by shooting water guns and throwing water balloons at each other.
PyeongChang Heat Hunting Festival has also started in Ddamtti Park.
The Festival under the theme of "Fighting summer" provided visitors with green floor with camping facilities and pools.
2018 Hwacheon Tomato Festival will be held from August 2 to 5 at Culture Town in Sanae-myeon.
