(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) GTI Expo 2018 closed on September 16.

Gangwon-do Province said the Expo was held in the largest size attended by 850 companies from about 50 countries and 100,000 visitors.

On the sidelines with the Expo, GTI Economic Cooperation Forum, Winter Olympics Economic Cooperation Forum, Northeast Asia Women CEO Conference, and Leaders Summit of the World Federation of Korean Association of Commerce were held.

In particular, at the GTI Economic Cooperation Forum, participants had an in-depth discussion on measures to revitalize sea routes in Northeast Asia in conjunction with China's One Belt, One Road Initiative.

During the business meetings, 715 contracts worth USD 149.9 million were signed, which is increased by USD 335 million, recording the greatest achievement in Expo's history.

"GTI International Trade and Investment Expo is a stage for companies to pioneer new domestic and overseas market by presenting product competitiveness," said, Choi Mun-sun, the governor of Gangwon-do, adding, "We will actively support competitive companies to enter new markets."
