Official Supporter of 2018 PyeongChang Games, Solraewon Makes USD 2.5 million Export Contracts

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Solraewon, a representative alcohol beverage company in Gangwon-do Province signed contracts worth USD 2.5 million with overseas firms at the GTI Expo 2018. Solraewon showed the excellence of Korean products to the world during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games.

At the Expo held from September 13 to 16 in Donghae, Solraewon signed export contracts worth KRW 2.8 billion with companies from China, Malaysia and Australia.

It was selected as the official supporter for 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and supplied Seolwon as official toast drink.

Lee Yi-ha, the CEO of Solraewon succeeded to produce Seolwon, a premium wine made with grapes grown in the clean area of Gangwon-do, after more than 40 years of relentless research and efforts.

Seolwon was always on the tables at the official events related to the Olympic Games.

Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee gave Seolwon as gifts to the heads of states at the Games.

The wine was also used as the toast drink at the reception dinner for the North Korean cheering group organized by the Province.

It is the only wine that has the Olympic emblem on its white porcelain-like bottle.

The wine will be exported with the Olympic emblem on the bottle.

"I am pleased to have the opportunity to showcase our products including Natural Song-e (pine mushroom) Liquor, Goldwin, Pure Gangwon and Seolwon," said Mr. Lee, adding, "It is a follow-up outcome of the PyeongChang Games."
