(HWACHEON=Yonhap News) Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival to be held from January 5 next year is receiving reservations from foreign tourists continuously, forecasting a successful festival.
Hwacheon-gun County said on November 25 that more than 7,000 tourists from Southeast Asia have made reservations to the festival up until now, including 4,000 tourists from a travel agency in Taiwan and 2,500 tourists from Thailand and 600 from Hong Kong.
Considering that about 6,000 reservations were made during the same period in prior to this year's Ice Festival, the number has increased greatly.
In particular, local travel agencies for Foreign Independent Travelers (FIT) are having inquiries. Hwacheon is expecting to have more than 10,000 reservations for next year's festival.

Choi Mun-sun, County Governor of Hwacheon said, "We will focus on raising the rate of revisits by redecorating the fishing zone for foreigners and the food street, and increasing more shuttle buses from/to Seoul for the Foreign Independent Travelers."
2019 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is scheduled to be held from January 5 to 27 around Hwacheoncheon Stream.
