According to Yonhap News,

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Chuncheon's main tourism spot, Nami Island, has been named in the "4th Contest of 100 Sightseeing Spots in Korea" 4 times in a row, a contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization.

The 100 Korea Sightseeing Spots is a promotional project that selects 100 must-visit tourist attractions by Koreans every two years, to foster the growth of domestic tourism economy. This year marks the 4th event since the first one held in 2013.

Nami Island is an international tourist destination with more than one million annual visitors from about 170 countries.

More than 600 performances and exhibitions are held annually on the island, and it also has accommodations and restaurants.

In particular, the Island's famous forest trails are named "the must-visit spots before you die."

The Chuncheon International Mime Festival is one of the three major mime festivals in the world, which has been loved by many tourists. It was granted a status of an "excellent festival," a promotion from last year's "promising festival."

This year marks the 30th anniversary the festival, and various events will take place throughout the city from May 26 to June 2.

Chuncheon City plans to build a variety of programs to make the city the nation's top cultural, arts and tourism city.
