600 overseas Korean business people to seek Gangwon's development in the coming month

(SEOUL=Yonhap News) World-OKTA announced on March 21 that it will hold the "21st World-OKTA Leaders Convention" at HiOne Resort, Jeongsun, Gangwon-do from April 23 to 26.

Co-hosted with Yonhap News, the Convention will be attended by about 600 members of OKTA, which has branches in 147 cities in 74 countries, to seek measures for co-prosperity by meeting business people and local government officials in Gangwon.

Overseas Korean business people who have their own business or engaged in trade in foreign countries will have a chance to have consultation for purchasing the products displayed at the exhibition of Gangwon-made products and in-depth business meetings.

Also, the next-generation members of OKTA and young CEO from Gangwon will have a conference to share their opinions on cooperation.

World OKTA members will also be taking the leader role in the investment attraction and tourism promotion of Gangwon province.

Gangwon mayor is planned to ask for cooperation from Korean businessmen overseas to develop Gangwon-province.

A chairperson of OKTA said, "This Leaders Convention will serve as a venue to expand and develop network between members, as well as putting overseas Korean businessmen in the front-seat of Gangwon's development," explaining that 'this is one of "home-coming events' designed to promote growing together with home country's local regions".
