Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) said on May 7 that it will invite, jointly with Gangwon-do, medical personnel and representatives of travel agencies from Khabarovsk, Russia to give them Familiarization Tour on Gangwon's medical wellness.

KTO and Gangwon-do prepared the Familiarization Tour to develop tourist programs on Gangwon's medical wellness, for six days on May 6-11.

Eleven people participate in Familiarization Tour, including nine medical personnel, including doctors and hospital presidents, and two representatives of travel agencies from Far East.

They will visit and experience Gangwon's medical wellness spots and infrastructures, including Healience Seonmaeul of Hongcheon, PARK ROCHE Wellness of Jeongseon, Dongin hospital of Gangneung, and Medical Equipment Techno-Valley of Wonju.

KTO and Gangwon have jointly continued to conduct overseas marketing activities, together with medical institutions in the province, by providing Familiarization Tour or participating in local medical exhibitions, in Central Asia and Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan since 2017.

It is the first time to introduce Gangwon's medical wellness system to those from Russia.

A KTO official said, "We will expand overseas marketing activities targeting Russian Far East and Central Asia as exchanges through land road and cruise are likely to increase with the launch of Fly Gangwon and improving inter-Korea relations."
