Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-province is set to attract foreign tourists, mainly from greater China.
Chuncheon city is to participate in Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) to be held in Beijing on June 18-20.
This is large-scale event participated by about 1,000 companies from 80 countries.
Chuncheon city is to intensively promote international taxi.
1,500 leaflets of tourist maps and international taxi in Chinese will be distributed.
Chuncheon city expects that visit by Chinese tourists, which had been declining, is once again be revitalized.
Prior to the expo, Chuncheon city invited Chinese tourism interpreters for Fam tour around major tourist attractions in March.
Also, it signed MOU with domestic travel agencies based in China and Southeast Asia.

As part of such efforts, it will visit Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru in Malaysia for five days from June 25.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Chuncheon in the past 3 years was 1.527 million (2016), 1.336 million (2017), and 1.497 million (2018).
