According to Yonhap News,

(WONJU=Yonhap News) Wonju, Gangwon is to be home to a hub of enterprise support center, which will play the role of the youth's startup birthplace

On September 3, Wonju City mayor announced a plan to establish a hub for starting a business by the youth, by investing KRW 10 billion including national budget of KRW 5 billion in Development Investment leading district in Namwonju.

The district is a project jointly pushed for with the Korean Land and Housing Corporation (LH) to develop the area surrounding Namwonju station-which will be built with double railway construction central line-and to make a base for the growth of Wonju City.

Wonju City will implement the project with 7,520 sq. meters land given for free, thanks to cooperation from LH.

The city plans to embark on basic plan and detailed design with KRW 600 million earmarked for the next year, and complete construction by 2022.

The hub will support the youth in starting a business, and serve as a network of creating jobs by connecting the city's strategic industries including high-tech medical devices and digital healthcare.
