On September 17, Gangwon-province announced that Yongpyong resort and Museum San Meditaion Hall, selected for the project run jointly by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) will be fostered and promoted as a prime tourist destination to experience Korean-style wellness.

Gangwon-do, MCST, and KTO plan to develop natural and forest healing in Yongpyong Resort and healing and meditation in Meditation Hall of Museum San into representative thematic programs, in parallel with project to improve conditions for foreigners stay, to use the facilities in attracting foreign tourists.

Yongpyong resort offers the best healing program in Balwang mountain while the Meditation Hall runs wellness programs experienced at art hall.

An official said, "Wellbeing, health, and happiness are emerging as an important subject in the tourism industry. We will actively attract foreign tourists by connecting Korean-style wellness tourism resources and improved brand image thanks to the 2018 Pyongchang Olympic Games."
