According to Yonhap News,

It is reported that the number of visitors who came to the very first Gangneung International Film Festival (GIFF), hosted by the city of Gangneung, Gangwon Province was approximately over 22,700.

GIFF committee said on Nov. 15 that over 83 percent of seats have been occupied at the first round of the movie festival opened from Nov. 8. With three main themes picked as symbolic keywords this year: Movie & Literature, Masters & Newcomers, Gangneung x3, totally 73 films from 32 countries were premiered.

An art director at the festival said “I’d like to say thank you all movie fans for their passion to the success of the festival this year.”
