Samcheok city to spend KRW 5 billion for renewable energy supply

Samcheok city, Gangwon Province unveiled a city project, forecast to cost approximately KRW 5 billion, supplying renewable energy sources which comes from solar, photovoltaic and thermal power in 610 districts which encompasses residential, commercial and public areas.

Registration for consortium membership to run an open contest to push for the project is open until Apr. 17. Those who’ve once taken part in “Korea Energy Agency-2020 renewable energy project” are qualified to sigh up for.

The consortium consists of muti-entities involved, responsible for installation, monitoring and inspection with solar energy businesses in charge. Potential candidates will be selected at the end of April, goring through a series of screening process for assessment.

A city official said “The authorities will spare no effort to give better access to renewable energy sources to power the community, a part of city projects to turn the city energy sufficient and save costs.”
