Wonju City will hold a commemoration event celebrating 15th anniversary of a friendly relationship with Edmonton next month.
About 60 participants of 15 Edmonton representatives, six Japanese visitors and Wonju officials will attend the ceremony. The ceremony will include a congratulatory remark by Wonju mayor, cake cutting and a performance by the Wonju Maeji Nong-a k, a Korean traditional music performance team.
Edmonton representatives will participate in a traditional Korean paper workshop, a signing ceremony for working-level cooperation, discussion sessions on exchange facilitation and visits to the Hansol Museum, Wonju Medical Device Complex Center and corporate cities.
Wonju and Edmonton will have a signing ceremony for working-level cooperation September 5. The agreement will address bilateral visits by high-level officials every three years and celebratory events.
The two cities signed a friendship city agreement in November of 1998 and have held regular visits and events since.
