According to Yonhap News,

GTI will be held in Gangnueng indoor gymnasium in October 2014

(CHUNCHEON = Yonhap News) The Greater Tumen Initiative (GTI) International Trade & Investment Fair 2014 will be held in Gangnueung indoor gymnasium from between 23rd and 26th of October next year, according to an announcement from the Gangneung Province (Gangwon).

The term of the next year’s fair was decided earlier due to the province’s attempt to avoid issues raised in 2013 including the lack of the preparation time and manpower and low participation rate.

Gangwon also established the GTI-fair bureau last August, and it will prepare a comprehensive initiative until the end of this month and begin its preparation for the fair.

The province will attempt to increase the brand value by promoting the fair as a Gangwon-style well-being•health fair.

It will promote the clean food, bio product, medical device, beauty product as the main item of the fair, which are mostly preferred by the buyers.

Gangwon plans to attract the both local and international buyers to help the companies who will participate the fair generate profits and explore new markets.

To help companies match the buyer one on one, the province will conduct a survey on the local companies’ demand on buyers. Cooperation with the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, the World Federation of Korea Association of Commerce and Small & Medium Business Centers Association of Korea will also take place to find the tailored buyers for the companies.

The province will also try to attract domestic and international companies to participate in the fair by strengthening the public relations and promote the fair by visiting some blue chip companies.

It will also encourage the participation of the international companies by asking cooperation of GTI members.

In an attempt to encourage the local residents’ participation, the province will hold events to provide experiences of the bio and medical device.

Cultural events hosted by GTI member nations and various entertainment programs will also be prepared for visitors.
