According to Yonhap News,

(CHUNCHEON = Yonhap News) Gangwon-do announced on January 18 that it aims to record USD 2.5 billion in exports this year.

It exceeds the expectation of Korea International Trade Association (KITA) Gangwon Center by USD 2.252 billion.

. To achieve its goal, the province prepared various measures including the active support for the export companies.

It will discover buyers in the overseas markets and connect them with 30 companies within the province, and provide up to KRW two million supports to more than 50 companies in the province to finance their distribution costs.

For the companies that do not have personnel to handle the export business, the province will provide various consulting services including preparing export contract document, customs and shipment, marketing follow-up management and so on.

In particular, the province will expand support system that is constantly demanded by the companies.

It will dispatch trade missions to Central and South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa for three times in a bid to expand promising markets such as medical appliance and bio products.

The province will also participate in 10 trade fairs in the United States, Japan and Hong Kong to maintain the market share in the existing export market.

For startups, it will provide translation and interpretation service, export insurance and foreign standard accreditation and so on.

It will also open an office in World Trade Center Seoul to enhance cooperation with KITA and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA).

“Although global economic outlook for 2015 is gloomy, we will achieve our goal by closely working with the relevant authorities and carrying out various supporting projects,” said an official of the province.
