According to Yonhap News,

(CHUNCHEON = Yonhap News) The Gangwon Information & Multimedia Corporation (GIMC) and Overseas Koreans Foundation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a cooperative agreement on March 12 in an effort to vitalize the industries that are related to the creative economy and promote exchange between overseas Koreans.

Under the agreement, the GIMC and Overseas Koreans Foundation promised to pool their efforts to exchange supports and carry out promotion activities for continuous development of both parties.

The GIMC provided “Gooreumbbang”, a character for promotion of the World Korean Business Convention, to Overseas Koreans Foundation and decided to support the foundation’s Hansang network projects.

Gooreumbbang was nominated as the ambassador of the World Korean Business Convention. The character is considered a successful case of the government’s creative economy and contents industry. The GIMC hoped that the agreement would be an opportunity to promote the Hansang network and creative economy worldwide.

Meanwhile, this year’s World Korean Business Convention will be held in Busan between September 24 and 26.
