Samcheok city to explore business projects to go in line with the K-new deal

The city of Samcheok, Gangwon Province gears up for exploring a string of business projects to be in line with the recently announced the Korean version of New Deal.
To this end, the city named the deputy mayor as a leader of the project, while forming a task force to push on the details. The city-led new deal (or called “Samcheok New Deal”) is divided into short and mid- long term plans.

For short term projects, the local authorities will launch reshaping of community development initiatives to steer through the local economy hit hard by the recent outbreak of the coronavirus, which require securing budget for the year 2021. To reach mid to longer term targets, they’ll reshuffle the existing industry structure to seek for burgeoning business, whereas setting on a path towards innovative growth.

By opening a special venue for civil discussions at the presence of industry specialists, the city will roll out a strategic initiative to well respond to post COVID-19 era.
