Taebaek to Hold Groundbreaking Ceremony for Plasma Power Plant on Aug. 14
The County will invest KRW 40.8 billion in the plasma power plant that will be built in the cheolam coal preparation plant of Jangseong colliery of the Korea Coal Corporation (KOCOAL). When the construction of the plant (first stage) is completed early next year, commercial development will take place immediately.
The construction of the second and third stage of power plants will begin right after the first plant and the plants will greatly affect the stagnant regional economy.
"The steam plasma generation system, a source technology owned by Green Science, is the world’s first technology that is useful to generate electricity in island areas and dense forest regions,” said a Taebaek official.
Green Science, which moved its head office from Daejeon to the Jangseong Agricultural Industrial Complex in Taebaek last December, will begin exporting plants to countries including Russia, Mongolia and Laos.
