(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province announced September 14 that SCI Holdings Ltd., a Chinese investment company, held a ceremony to begin the establishment of China Dream City and presented on the project and their future plans.
SCI Holdings Ltd. aims to execute test operation for at least three months before the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics.
The Province will finalize the development plan by the end of the year and complete the construction by November, 2017.
The China Dream City will be established on 500,000 ㎡ land of Jeongdongjin, Gangneung.
The Province aims to build the China Dream City as one of the three landmarks of Gangwon that is equipped with a hotel, condominium, shopping mall, concert hall and theme park.
"The China Dream City will increase the awareness of Gwangwon Province to not only Chinese capitalists but also tourists. This will expand investment and the number of tourists, " said Director Seo Kyeong-won of Global Project Team of the Province.
