(INJE=Yonhap News) Inje County of Gangwon Province received presidential citation at the 2014 Renewable Energy Awards, hosted and organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy and the New & Renewable Energy Center of the Korea Energy Management Corporation.
Inje is recognized for its efforts to promote renewable energy by investing KRW 32.8 billion in 26 facilities of six sectors including solar and wind energy from 2004.
The County installed the automatic lighting system in government offices to save energy and changed street lights to LED lights.
The County has secured annual tax revenue of KRW 800 million by making the best use of the eco-friendly wind farm and small hydropower.
