Gangwon Invests KRW 73 Bn in Developing Creative Agriculture

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) Gangwon Province announced February 24 that it will invest KRW 73 billion in three core projects including developing creative agricultural infrastructure, stable water supply and safe agricultural facilities to increase agricultural productivity.

In order to establish a creative agricultural infrastructure, the province will invest KRW 18 billion in five sectors including improvement of irregular farmland and expansion and packaging agricultural goods.

The province will minimize the damages of droughts by investing KRW 19.5 billion in six sectors including developing multipurpose agricultural water and improving drainage for regularly flooded areas.

The province will execute a budget of KRW 43 billion in the first half of the year, which accounts for 60% of the project budget, to prepare for the droughts, revitalize the regional economy and create jobs.
