According to Yonhap News,

(CHUNCHEON=Yonhap News) The Institute of International Rural Development of Kangwon University announced April 28 that it will participate in the foreign aid project that is organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency. It will carry out technology transfer project to Lebanon on post-management of agricultural products.

The project is meaningful as it focuses on the postharvest management including the quality management and storage of agricultural products.

The project team formed a consortium with the Korea Postharvest Management Association and conducted a feasibility study in Lebanon last January.

The university plans to support working facilities including low temperature storage, pre-cooling, selection and packaging in Tyre and Aley in Lebanon.

"We hope the project that focuses on postharvest management technology transfer will become a turning point to the aid project for agricultural technology," said a university official.
