According to Yonhap News,

Gangwon Province hosted an event, named ‘020 Total Export Promotion’, a platform which combined both online and offline marketing strategies on Dec 2-3 to help local companies who’ve reached a deadlock as the coronavirus crisis has threatened the global economy bounce back from the pandemic-induced recession. At the presence of 35 buyers (22 online, 13 offline) and 46 local businesses, the two day event held a special sales event inviting 7 social media influencers from China and Russia, getting their fans to purchase locally manufactured products and services they’ve endorsed.

The trade fair is estimated to be a landmark marketing event for the province as such type of O2O marketing platform, using the best mix of social media channels and biz-matching services, has been unprecedented so far. Provincial authorities expect the event to setup a new path toward post-COVID-19 marketing solutions.

Not only a one-on-one virtual meeting connected with global buyers, but an offline business consulting and matching session, a venue to meet with overseas partners staying in Korea was held during the event.

The trade fair was coincided with an inaugural ceremony hosted in celebration of the launch of ‘Gangwon Trade Promotion Association’, which consists of 7 locally based private-public entities in pursuit of further expanding sales channels online, which used to be largely focused on cosmetics and beauty products.
