According to Yonhap News,

A project to form what’s called ‘Global ICT Convergence Studio’, a multi-purpose content studio where the newest digital technologies such as VR, AR or 3D visualization are applied will underway. Under the sponsorship from the provincial authorities, the plan aims to help locally based small and mid-sized businesses facing fast-changing, underlying consumption trends where non-face-to-face platforms are increasingly prevalent due to the worldwide coronavirus shock gain access to broad pool of global buyers. Thus far, SMEs in Gangwon province used to visit an authorized off-site venue to join webinars like Gangwon Economic Promotion Agency or Gangwon Technopark, the only contact-free marketing channels through which they’ve reached out to global markets in the age of COVID-19.

Due to constrained spaces and under-developed facilities, there has long been huge demand for the improvement.

Accordingly, Gangwon province unveiled the plan to invest KRW 3.2 into the Global ICT Convergence Studio, letting local SMEs take part in business consulting services, live-commerce events, international trade fairs or cultural events.

Running the facility temporarily inside the provincial office starting from next month for a year, the authorities will reschedule the plan to set up a new building.
