GARES to let farmers in Mongolia learn more on Korea’s high quality agro-products

Gangwon Agriculture Research and Extension Services (GARES) hosted a virtual trade fair, aiming to help local farmers and agro-businesses further develop and expand sales channels across the Eurasian Continent, Russia, China and East Europe on Feb 24 in the city of Wonju. At the presence of four locally based enterprises, the business consulting session on-site took place with eight Mongolian buyers, interested in installing PVC greenhouses and seeding moluo (lily root) harvested in Korea. The meeting is highly anticipated to drive up sales with Mongolia.

The provincial authorities has started exchange programs its counterpart since 1999 and run a large-scale horticultural facilities in Ulan Bator during the time period between 2004- 2019. Since then, Mongolia has begun witnessing tremendous growth in the horticultural business, harvesting tomatoes or cucumbers.

In response to increasing demand for Korean products and agro-technologies from oversea farmers and entrepreneurs, GARES has long hosed the trade fair for years to help local businesses open up a new markets in neighboring countries who’ve cooperative partnerships under the ROK’s New Northern Policy.
