The city of Chuncheon joins hands with Israeli VC, Yozma Group to help locally based biotech venture startup firms find and open up greater business opportunities in overseas markets. At the presence of the city governor, Yozma Group CEO and the head of Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation, there was an MOU signing ceremony on Apr 12 over the VC partnerships.

At the investor relations session, five biotech venture companies based in Gangwon Province- Remedi, Inogenix, Biometrix Technology Inc., Small Machines, KD POWER- have pitched business ideas to the VC investor.

The Yozma Group, Israel’s state-backed VC formed in 1993 to fund early stage startups and develop accelerator programs, have started to expand investments into Korea, regarded as a very appealing destination for its expertise in biotechnology, a provincial official said. “The provincial government will also give a boost to locally based promising bio companies so as to let them tap deeper into overseas markets.” a city official said.
