According to Yonhap News,

Gangwondo Agricultural Research and Extension Services (GARE) has hosted a web-based virtual trade fair at Gangwon Live, a digital studio, on Apr 22 to help locally based farm businesses further expand their sales channels particularly in countries situated north of the Korean Peninsula which include China, Mongolia, Russia and even Eurasian countries. Four farm businesses specializing in greenhouse installation, seedling, farming machines and pesticides as representatives of Gangwon Province, took part in the trade show to meet with potential business partners.

Entrepreneurs who came from Mongolia have been in highly interested in building greenhouses and small-sized farming machines and tractors. They also raised questions about plant breeding and harvesting for rice and maize, while figuring out possible inter-country adoption of Gangwon corn seeds to Mongolia.

Signing a partnership to run an exchange program with Mongolia since 1999, Gangwon Province has established an agriculture district in Mongolia, named ‘Gangwon Agro Twon’ from the year 2004 to 2019. The bilateral partnership deal has helped both countries pick up the pace of the development of the horticulture industry, advancing farm technologies to raise vegies like tomatoes or cucumbers.
