According to Yonhap News,
Businesses based in capital areas are recently moving one after another into South Chuncheon Industry Cluster. The city of Chuncheon has signed an MOU with three investors, headquartered in metropolitan areas, on May 20 over a partnership deal, a city official said. These investors laid out their plans to move into the city cluster, driving up the occupancy rate to 76.9% from 61.5%.
The investments are reported to amount to nearly KRW 10.8 billion. What’s worth noticing is that the deal has been reached without any financial aid from the municipal authorities.
The city said the recent investment boom is partly attributed to relatively affordable land prices (1/5 of capital areas’) and to the proximity to metropolitan areas.
