The Knowledge Industry Site of Wonju Enterprise City in Gangwon was 100% all sold out.

On June 2, Wongju city said that the last one piece of land out of 48 Knowledge Industry Sites completed contract, recording 100% sales in lots.

The city signed an MOU with PHC on investment in Wonju Enterprise City in the morning of June 2.

PHC, a company producing a rapid COVID-19 test kits, is to relocate and build its headquarters, research center and production facilities on 40,221 sq. meters of land by investing KRW 41 billion.

It is expected to create 200 jobs and contribute to revitalizing local economy.

The company is listed on KOSDAQ, having grown mainly with digital broadcasting set-top box since establishment in 1998. In keeping with changing market environment, it launched the bio business in 2019. In particular, its technology in diagnostic business has been acknowledged with its development of COVID-19 test kit and sample collection kit on its own, exporting its sample collection kits to the U.S. for the first time as a Korean company.

The Knowledge Industrial Site (924,000 sq. meters) in Enterprise City has been all sold in ten years since the start of construction.

The mayor said, "We'd like to express our deep gratitude to PHC for deciding this large-scale investment despite domestic/global economic recession," adding that "we will provide active support to help PHC grow into a leading biohealth company in the world."
