With the construction of Legoland in Chuncheon entering the last stage, UK's Merlin has directly invested KRW 90.5 billion, 41% of KRW 220 billion up until now.

According to the Gangwon Province Government on June 30, Merlin has invested KRW 90.5 billion as of June in establishment of Legoland Park, being implemented as a FDI project. It amounts to 41% of KRW 220 billion, an investment amount promised by Merlin.

The province and Merlin promised to invest a total of KRW 300 billion in the 1st stage of Legoland theme park. Of the total amount, KRW 80 billion has already been invested by GJC, the investment arm of Gangwon Province. The remaining KRW 220 billion is to be invested by Merlin. Of total business expense of KRW 300 billion, about orders worth KRW 240 billion have been already made out for various rides, among others, which are currently being installed. The remaining KRW 60 billion will be ordered out for operation system facilities, sculpture, and others, which will be finished before the opening of Legoland.

Meanwhile, the construction progress rate of 56 buildings to be built in Legoland Korea Resort (LLKR) reached more than 99%.

Currently, the safety tests and trial run are underway for rides and attractions that finished installation.

Gangwon's governor said "We will thoroughly review and prepare so that Legoland can open and welcome visitors in the first half of next year."
