According to Yonhap News,

Wonju Medical Equipment Techno Valley announced on October 5 that it will hold the 17th Gangwon Medical Equipment Show(GMES 2021) online on October 14-15.

The GMES is hosted by Gangwon-do and Wonju-si, and co-organized by Wonju Medical Industry Techno Valley (WMIT) and the KOTRA's Gangwon Office.

The WMIT plans to support overseas marketing of participating companies by utilizing an online marketing platform (GMES website, G-Medical Hub) as a way to respond to the post-COVID-19 era.

In this year's exhibition, buyers from 86 companies, including 54 domestic companies, will participate.

During the event period, there will be online business meetings with buyers, with support of interpretation and video conference program provided by the WMIT.

In addition, cost will be partially subsidized to buyers who imported samples and demo units (trial operation) to cover test marketing expense and demo unit purchasing expense, so as to promote exports of participating companies.

On the sideline of the exhibition, an online seminar will be held under the theme of 'the latest trends and implications of the digital healthcare industry'. Also, it is scheduled to hold an online Korea-Japan technology exchange online to discuss technology convergence and joint research and development between Korean and Japanese companies.

It is planned to oprerate a digital studio on the 2nd Floor of the Medical Device Support Center from December this year to support non face-to-face online-marketing activities on an on-gonig basis such as online business meetings, investment attraction, and launching shows of medical device companies.
