Gangwon-do announced on December 16 that it had achieved this year's export target of USD 2.5 billion earlier than expected.

According to Gangwon-do, its exports amounted to USD 2.515 billion as of the end of November, exceeding its target of USD 2.5 billion for this year.

This is the largest amount since the province's largest export USD 2.173 billion recorded in 2013.

According to the export statistics data complied by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), the main items that contributed to achieving USD 2.5 billion export are medical electronic devices, automobile parts, Ferro Alloys, electric wires, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
