According to Yonhap News,

Gangwon-do said on January 21 that it will designate Pyeongchang and Sokcho, a marginalized area for investment, as a business investment promotion zone to provide additional support.

Pyeongchang and Sokcho recorded less than 5% of subsidy execution rate in the past 3 years, with low performance of enterprise relocation MOU signing, etc.

In response, the province is to give 5% additional support to the companies moving into the business investment promotion zone in addition to the existing support rate.

And the companies who relocate to or establish new business in the zone can receive support of one among wastewater discharge subsidy, logistics subsidy, electricity bill subsidy.

The province plans to announce the business investment promotion zone designation for all areas of Pyeongchang and Sokcho next month.
