According to Yonhap News,

At Okgye Port in Gangneung, Gangwon State, products from four cities and counties of 13 companies in the province, including Chuncheon, have been shipped for a special sale event in Mongolia.

Gangneung-si said on August 2 that agricultural and fishery processed foods and cosmetics produced by 13 companies based in Gangneung, Chuncheon, Wonju, and Hongcheon were shipped to Mongolia this morning through Okgye Port.

When shipping to Russia on November 30 last year, products only from Gangneung were included, but this time, it was expanded to include four cities and counties in Gangwon State.

The Gangneung-si Export Association, which was established last year to actively promote export supporting projects through Okgye Port, began developing market in Mongolia to revitalize Okgye Port in April.

This export is a follow-up measure to that effort. The products exported will be sold through a special sale event in Mongolia in early September.

An official from the city said, "Okgye used to be mainly a bulk port, including cement exports. Going forward, we will endeavor to revitalize the port, allowing export and import of various products through active communication with exporting companies in the province."
