Jeju and Hokkaido Promote Tourism Exchange

(JEJU=Yonhap News) Jeju Island and Japan's Hokkaido signed an agreement to establish a friendly and cooperative relationship on January 12 for the development and prosperity of both cities. 




Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong and Hokkaido Governor Harumi Takahashi participated in the signing ceremony.

The two cities, the leading tourism cities of Korea and Japan, agreed to exchange tourism industry, attract tourists and nurture global talents. Jeju Island will benchmark Hokkaido's advanced policies related to the primary industry.

Jeju and Hokkaido have carried out working-level meetings since the Korea-China-Japan meeting in 2012 to seek measures for exchange and cooperation to promote co-development.
