(JEJU=NEWSIS) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced January 27 that it will focus on attracting investment in the new growth engine industries including IT, BT, electric vehicles, new and renewable energy and joint ventures between regional and foreign-invested companies.

The province has established an investment promotion model to enhance the value of Jeju and built networks with investment promotion agencies and relevant organizations including the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, Korea Foreign Company Association, International Enterprise Singapore and Embassy of Denmark in Seoul to attract investment in the new growth engine industries.

The province will create products of joint ventures between foreign-invested companies and regional companies in the sectors including new and renewable energy, electric vehicles, IT and BT in the first quarter of the year and find potential investors from Southeast Asia, North America and Europe through networks with relevant institutions.

The province will select potential investors by country and invite them to the island to carry out familiarization tours to increase the investment promotion effect.
