Jeju Invests KRW 43.1 Bn in Living Environment Sector in 2016

(JEJU=NEWSIS) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced February 3 that it will invest KRW 43.1 billion in 16 projects of the living environment sector in 2016 to utilize waste and build a resource-cycling eco-friendly city.

The province will invest KRW 36.4 billion in building a resource-cycling waste management system, KRW 6.2 billion in preventing pollutants and reducing harmful environmental substances and KRW 500 million in creating eco-friendly infrastructure.

The province will build an eco-friendly resource-cycling center and facilitate collecting recycling waste and reducing food waste to prepare a resource-cycling waste management system that will minimize and utilize the waste.

To prevent pollutants and reduce harmful environmental substances, the province will lower vehicle emissions, collect abandoned waste and agricultural waste, remove asbestos-filled ceilings and establish a preventive and management center for preventing environmental diseases.
