Water World Forum Opens in Jeju

(JEJU=Yonhap News) The 8th Jeju Water World Forum hosted by the Jeju Development Corporation (JPDC) will be held at the Jeju International Convention Center from November 16 to 18, 2016.

Under the slogan of "Jeju's Water, Going Global", Ong Say Leong, professor of the Centre for Water Research at the National University of Singapore, and Jeffrey T. Pearson, Deputy Director for the Commission on Water Resource Management of Hawaii, will give lectures on water management policies of their countries.


In a bid to look for global marketing strategies for Jeju Samdasoo, volcanic bedrock water produced and bottled by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Development Corporation, presentation sessions will touch on various topics such as 'Global Drinking Water Market and Market Entry Strategy for Samdasoo - Focusing on the China Market' and 'Neuro Marketing: How the Brain Reacts to Water.'

In the Jeju-Hawaii Water Forum, a special session prepared as part of cooperative exchanges between two volcanic islands, maintenance and management techniques for Jeju's clean groundwater and Hawaii's water resource monitoring practice will be shared.

Participants will look around Jeju's water business promotion center, an ecological park in Seogwipo City, the Lava Seawater Industrial Complex, and drinking water wells on the last day.

On the sidelines of the event, the JPDC will announce finalists for its creative business idea contest and hold an awards ceremony.
