According to Newsis News,

(JEJU=Newsis News) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on December 16 that it will make a public notice of the Second Regional Logistics Basic Plan, which will be invested KRW 2.6 trillion by 2025 from this year, following the approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

In order to improve high-cost logistics system in Jeju, the second plan is focused on three tasks: development of logistics complex; establishment of logistics DB; and expansion of joint logistics center.

The island currently operates a joint logistics center to support the logistics expenses of SMEs, and plans to allow more small manufacturers to use the facility and reduce logistics expenses.

In order to respond to the growing freight volume and provide support to logistics companies, it will also build a support system to build a logistics complex where logistics companies can better utilize the Port of Jeju for their businesses.

In addition, by systematically managing dispersed logistics data, the island will establish logistics database in stages to monitor distribution status and use the information for policy making.

Total investment of the second plan is KRW 2.6 trillion, and among which, KRW 2.3 trillion will be invested in the expansion of infrastructure such as ports, airports, roads and logistics complexes.
