(JEJU=Newsis News) Jeju Special Self-Governing Province's ordinances for attracting investment in the island has been revised, now with greater support for ICT (information and communications technology) companies that invest in the island.

The province announced March 27 its plans to hold an information session in April to actively recruit ICT business from the greater Seoul region.

The ordinance was revised on March 15 by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council, which discontinued government support for telemarketing service providers, and has lowered the requirement for companies that relocate to the island from the greater Seoul area to receive subsidies from 20 to 10 regular employees, but only when the company is part of a province-supported local industry.

Province-supported local industries for Jeju divide into main industries including cosmetics manufacturing, economic cooperation, applied water use, wind-powered electric vehicle services, and knowledge-based industries such as software development and supply, and ICT services.
