(SEOUL=Newsis News) Electric and autonomous vehicle electric parts company Nexen Tech has selected Jeju as its appropriate test bed for autonomous driving.

A company source noted, "Jeju has an optimal environment for testing various innovative autonomous driving technologies."

There are currently 2470 electric vehicle charging stations on the island province, and plans to expand the scale even further to meet its goal as a 'carbon-free island.'

Meanwhile, the company announced January 17 that it has established NDM (New Direction in Mobility) a company that will be exclusively in charge of developing autonomous driving platforms,

Nexen plans to develop an autonomous driving platform by the end of this year.
