The Jeju Provincial Government announced on March 22 that it would support the development of an integrated online platform by the Balanced Local Development Support Center of the Jeju Institute, to support local development projects with the latest information and communication technology.

The integrated online platform will feature an online instructor support system to facilitate the development of rural neighborhoods.

The platform is to be developed alongside the Internet of Things (IoT) projects for providing proactive traditional medicine and care for local seniors and managing the Jeju Culture Intermediation Center.

The online instructor support system will enable neighborhoods to recruit instructors able to provide training and learning programs in demand, offer new learning and training courses, recruit trainees, manage programs, evaluate instructors, pay instructors, and check and monitor underperforming instructors all on a single platform.

The new online platform will also assist the program for providing proactive traditional medicine and care for local seniors by collecting location information on the support vehicles used, equipping these vehicles with mobile Internet servers, and providing various entertainment and educational content on LED monitors onboard the vehicles using the IoT technology.

Finally, the online platform will also support the management of the Jeju Culture Intermediation Center, helping local citizens interested in learning about culture and the arts find instructors and take lessons at the locations and times convenient to them.
