Jeju introduces tourism·culture at VITM 2018

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province participated in the 2018 Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) held in Hanoi, Vietnam from March 29 to April 1 to promote Jeju's culture and tour sites to companies and consumers.

The event was held in the Hanoi International Exhibition Center and drew 650 companies from 25 countries that set up 505 booths, as well as 65,000 visitors.

From Jeju, the province, Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Tourism Association and 8 tourism companies in Jeju took part.

Jeju Tourism Policy Division Director Hyun Hak-soo promoted Jeju's many tourist locations as well as the exhibition booth through an interview with Wanduerlust Tips, Ho Chi Minh City's broadcasting station and travel magazine.

Hyun introduced aspects of Jeju such as the various spring festivals and marathons, Jeju's dark tourism, woman divers and other characteristics of Jeju's natural resources and unique culture.

Hyun also met with Nguyen Thi Bich Van, Director of Vietnam Women's Museum to introduce Jeju's culture.

Nguyen remarked, "I hope to see a boost in exchanges between Vietnam and Jeju," and added, "let's go ahead and discuss plans to exhibit Jeju's culture here at the Women's Museum."
