Japanese Cruise Ship Expected to Bring 1500 Tourists

According to Yonhap News,

(Jeju=Yonhap News) The first cruise ship from Japan will arrive at the Port of Jeju this year.

The Italian Costa neoRomantica will depart from Japan with around 1500 passengers and arrive at Jeju Port on May 30 at 11 a.m.

The Costa neoRomantica departed from Tokyo on May 27, stopped by Kobe before arriving at Jeju and will stop by Sasebo on its way back to Tokyo.

The vessel is 220m long, 32m wide and has a 56,769t capacity. It is capable of carrying 1578 passengers and 650 crew members.

This year, there are 11 cruises from Japan scheduled to visit Jeju. The neoRomantica will visit 9 times, Japan's NYK Oscar II will arrive once and Mitsui's Nippon Maru will also visit once.

Last year, 9 cruises from Japan brought roughly 7900 tourists to Jeju.
