9 Jeju Companies Selected for Support Projects

(JEJU=Yonhap News) The selection and support project to advance Jeju companies into global markets is well underway.

On June 8, Jeju-do and Jeju Technopark selected 9 "Jeju Star Companies" with abundant potential for growth and job creation to foster regional SMEs.

The Jeju Start Companies are: Durae Corporation (cosmetics), Botari Energy (solar panels), eINS S&C (AI simulation solution), Jeju Love (liquid tea), CS (IoT commercialization), BMI Korea (pharmaceuticals), Korea Leading Energy Management (renewable energy), Hurom (healthy food), and Jeju Pass (rental car OTA platform).

The province will spend KRW 50 million to support each company with management planning, commercialization R&D planning, production quality innovation and marketing. The province will also spend KRW 300 million per year for the next 2 years to support R&D activities for commercialization.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will provide up to KRW 30 million for each company that signs up for its PR video production program, overseas expos participation program and the successful export package program.

This project is part of the ministry's project to foster region-specific industries, and is the first of a series of projects to come until 2022. The province will aim to support the growth of 45 startups.
