Jeju announced on August 3 that it will implement an ODA Project linked with the Project to build Girls' High School in Burundi in honor of Choi Jeong-suk.

The school was built with the support of the Korea Hope Foundation in honor of Choi Jeong-suk, the first superintendent of the Jeju Province, independence fighter, and a medical worker.

The school was built as the first national girls' high school in Burundi with 6 classrooms, dormitory, library and a cafeteria in 2 buildings. The project budget was KRW 250 million. cafetaria The government of the Republic of Burundi provided the site and construction materials, and the residents volunteered to clear site, lay bricks and transport sand.

Linked with the Choi Jeong-suk Girls' High School Project, which is spreading Jeju's image as an island of peace to the African country, Jeju plans to establish an internet network to provide stable IT education environment and provide educational devices including personal computers. The project budget will amount to KRW 10 million. The completion ceremony of the school will be held in August 6.
