According to Yonhap News,

(JEJU=Yonhap News) Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education announced on August 14 that Chinese high school students will visit Jeju for mutual exchange and building friendship.

It is a return visit to Jeju since the student from Jeju visited Beijing and Shanghai in May this year.

Groups of 30 students and teachers from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission will visit Jeju from August 16 to 20, and 29 students and teachers from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission will visit from 23 to 27.

The groups will visit Jeju Jungang High School and Jeju Jungang Girls' High School to watch the performances that students from Jeju have prepared. They will also participate in a traditional Korean traditional culture class and have school lunch with Korean students.

The Chinese students will also visit the World Natural Heritage sites and cultural heritage sites including Folklore and Natural History Museum, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone and Seongup Folk Village. They will also visit Jeju 4.3 Peace Park to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the April 3 Incident of 1948 massacres and learn the history and the spirit of the Incident.

The students will have the opportunity to stay at homes of the Korean students for one night to experience family culture in Jeju.

The student exchange between Jeju and Beijing and Shanghai has been implemented since the Jeju Provincial Office of Education signed agreements with Education Commissions of Beijing and Shanghai in 2016 and 2006 respectively on the education exchange.
