Jeju Special Self-governing Province announced on October 30 that it will strengthen exchange with a sister province, Hainan by establishing and operating a consultative body.

The Province will meet with a delegation led by Shen Xiaoming, the governor of Hainan on November 2 to sign an MOU and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation.

The MOU includes strengthening cooperation and exchange in the field of tourism, culture, sports, economy, trade, environment and education.

It also contains dispatching delegation and participants every year to Jeju Forum and Boao Forum which are main forums of the two regions.

Two islands has been in sisterhood relationship since 1995 and showing active interchanges.

The Governor Shen Xiaoming will stay in Jeju from November 2 to 3 and visit Jeju Science Park, Jeju Ferry Passenger Terminal and Folklore and Natural History Museum. A meeting with Won Hee-ryong, governor of Jeju is scheduled as well.
