According to Yonhap News,

(JEJU=Yonhap News) The 18th Extreme South Yellowtail Festival will be held from November 29 to December 2 near Moseulpo Port in Jeju.

The festival offers colorful tourist attractions and a variety of food.

Various events are prepared for the visitors, including catching bangeo fish with bare hands, reel fishing with dad, on-deck seafood auction, and swimming competition in the water of the extreme south.

Visitors can also enjoy bangeo raw fish sampling and taste all sorts of marine products.

Unique experiences such as haenyeo song festival, haenyeo taewak buoy making, tuho throwing game and regional culture exploration are also prepared.

The song festival award and fireworks will be the grand finale of the festival.

Bangeo is caught in the waters around Marado Island, the southernmost island of the country with strong current. The chewy and tender fish is the delicacy of the winter season with relatively cheap price.

The 110 centimeter long fish has abundant DHA and vitamin D and is effective for preventing arteriosclerosis and high pressure, osteoporosis and aging.
