Jeju to invest KRW 2.5 bln in ICT convergence projects

Jeju provincial government announced on March 4 that it will invest KRW 2.5 billion in 3 areas of ICT convergence business, in order to respond to the fourth industrial revolution and create the ecosystem for SW enterprise in Jeju island.

The province plans to invest KRW 1.95 billion in five projects of ICT convergence industry, including support for the growth of SW enterprise, support for SW convergence product development, and support for ICT new technologies. The announcement for details will be made available in March by Jeju Techno Park.

Also, the island government will invest KRW 260 million to support test beds for entering global broadcasting and communications market, and KRW 260 million in the industry-academia collaboration, run by Jeju university, to nurture talent in engineering.

A provincial government official said, "By promoting the regional SW enterprises, we will build the ecosystem for the regional ICT industry, while securing future growth engines through development of ICT convergence industries".
